About our Team

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee manages TEDxUTAustin’s relationship with the public by maintaining a strong social media presence, promoting events, and sharing narratives across online platforms and in-person interactions. Chairs will run social media strategies across Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and more. They will also create and source engaging content for the blog and newsletter, ensuring alignment with the TEDxUTAustin brand. As a whole, the committee connects TEDxUTAustin with the broader community through marketing campaigns, website management, and public-facing initiatives.

Creative Committee

The Creative Committee oversees all design and creative production for TEDxUTAustin. This includes developing a cohesive visual identity through graphics, stage design, merchandise, and digital/physical media. Members work on both the organization’s year-round content and the annual conference, shaping the theme’s visual direction and crafting an engaging, memorable experience. Designers of all skill sets — from graphic and web design to animation and photography — collaborate to produce distinctive work that reflects TEDxUTAustin’s brand and elevates its conference.

Curation Committee

The Curation Committee builds the core of the conference: the speaker lineup. Members evaluate applications, organize interviews and auditions, and guide speakers through the preparation process. Chairs coach speakers, provide feedback, fact-check content, and lead rehearsals to ensure alignment with TEDx standards. By curating a thoughtful mix of voices and ideas, the committee helps shape talks that inspire lasting impact on the UT and Austin communities.

Finance & Logistics Committee

The Finance & Logistics Committee turns ideas into reality by overseeing purchasing, budgeting, and event logistics. Members manage the organization’s finances while supporting other committees with the resources needed to operate. Responsibilities include selecting AV services, merchandise, and food/beverage vendors, coordinating the run of show, and communicating with suppliers to ensure a seamless conference. F&L also ensures compliance with university procurement policies and partners with other committees to bring plans to life.

Operations Committee

The Operations Committee ensures TEDxUTAustin functions smoothly as a team and creates meaningful experiences for both members and attendees. Members source stage performers, plan auxiliary events, and design post-conference activations such as the art gallery. The committee also organizes retreats, coordinates recruitment and onboarding, gathers team feedback, and strengthens inter-committee collaboration. On conference day, Operations helps craft the attendee experience and ensures the event runs seamlessly.

Partnerships Committee

The Partnerships Committee builds and maintains relationships that fund TEDxUTAustin and enhance the conference experience. Members connect with university departments, corporate partners, startups, and local organizations to secure sponsorships and collaborations. They also develop showcase experiences and art installations that highlight partners while engaging attendees. By fostering strong external relationships, the committee increases TEDxUTAustin’s presence in the Austin community and ensures financial sustainability.
